Exporting your data

How to get a complete copy of everything held for your business, what it contains, and how long you can ask for it.

How to ask for an export

Write to support@newhomestead.ai and ask for an export of your business's data. There is no export button in the app: the export is produced by the operator on request, and they will send you the file.

What you get

One file, in JSON: a structured text format meant to be read by software rather than printed. It contains every record held for your business, including:

  • every draft, both as the AI wrote it and as it was approved, with each decision and who made it;
  • your done trail, including every time your operator accessed your account;
  • the record of AI usage and its estimated cost;
  • your team, their permissions, and your settings;
  • any documents you uploaded, as the files themselves rather than links to them;
  • the wording of any consent you gave, alongside the record that you gave it.

It contains no link that has to be fetched later, so nothing in it can expire before you open it.

The export shows up in your trail

Producing the export is itself an operator action on your data, so it is recorded in your own done trail, with who did it and when.

How long you can ask for it

For as long as your account is active, and for at least thirty days after your contract ends. Your data is kept for that whole window precisely so it can be handed back to you in full. See the FAQ on your data for what happens after that.

Still stuck? Write to support@newhomestead.ai and a person will answer. Common questions are on the FAQ.
